Not sure what colour suits you?

Do you have color contacts for Halloween or cosplay?

Yes. EyeCandys carries color contact lenses designed for Halloween, cosplay, and themed makeup looks. The collection includes solid white and black lenses, cat-eye designs, and bold colors commonly used for horror makeup, anime cosplay, and character styling.

These cosplay and Halloween contact lenses are designed for strong color payoff, clear pattern definition, and comfortable wear during events, photoshoots, and conventions. Options are available for both subtle character enhancements and high-impact costume looks.

What lens sizes do you offer?

We offer colored contact lenses in a range of diameters to suit different eye shapes and style preferences. Sizes typically range from 14.0–14.2 mm for a natural enhancement to 15.0 mm for a more noticeable, enlarged iris effect.

Lens diameter directly affects how large your eyes appear. Smaller and standard sizes create a subtle, everyday look, while larger diameters produce a wider, more defined iris often associated with circle lenses and doll-eye styles.

For added definition, circle lenses feature a visible limbal ring that enhances contrast and sharpens the eye’s outline. Each product page includes real-wear photos and detailed lens measurements so you can choose a size that aligns with your desired look and comfort level.

Are colored contacts bad for your eyes?

While some believe color contacts are harmful, they’re no riskier than clear lenses when used correctly. Mild discomfort is the most common issue, usually caused by poor hygiene or fit.

If you require vision correction, it's crucial to get your color contacts properly prescribed and fitted by an eyecare professional. At EyeCandys, we require an upload of your most recent prescription to ensure the lenses are right for your eyes.

Have different prescriptions for each eye? Check the product details—most of our colored contact lenses are sold in same-power pairs or multi-pair boxes, so you may need to order a separate box for each eye. It’s smart to keep a backup pair, too.

To keep your eyes safe:
• Wear colored contacts no more than 6 hours per day
• Clean them with fresh solution
• Always check expiration dates on both your lenses and solution
• Follow your optometrist’s care instructions without exception

How do I know my lenses are safe?

Safe colored contact lenses are regulated medical devices and should only be purchased from certified retailers. EyeCandys stocks coloured contacts that meet international safety standards and are approved by recognised health authorities, including the FDA, Health Canada, KFDA, and CE (CE1023).

We carry lenses from established manufacturers such as GEO Medical, Interojo, Acuvue, Ciba Vision, Bausch & Lomb, Air Optix, and FreshLook. These brands are known for consistent quality, material safety, and reliable manufacturing processes.

Coloured contact lenses are safe for your eyes when they are properly fitted, worn as directed, and cared for correctly. We recommend consulting an optician or eye care professional before purchase, especially if you have dry eyes, astigmatism, or existing eye conditions. Proper fit, wear time, and hygiene are essential for safe cosmetic lens use.

Who should avoid colored contacts?

If you have dry eye syndrome or require a high-strength prescription due to severe nearsightedness, contacts may not be a good fit. Some users may also develop allergies to lens cleaning solutions or the lenses themselves. Since daily cleaning is critical for lens hygiene, these allergies can make lens wear problematic.

Doctors often advise diabetic patients to avoid contact lenses, as they may be more prone to infection and slower to heal. Likewise, while our colored contact lenses are appealing to all ages, they are not recommended for children under adolescence due to the sensitivity of developing eyes.

We do not recommend colored contact lenses for people with the following conditions, as lens use may worsen symptoms:

• Eye infections such as conjunctivitis
• Corneal disorders like keratitis
• Allergic eye conditions including hayfever
• Chronic eye diseases like glaucoma

Are colored contact lenses uncomfortable?

Not if you choose high-quality lenses and care for them properly. Discomfort is usually linked to low-quality materials, expired lenses, poor cleaning habits, or dryness.

When shopping for clear or colored contact lenses, check the water content—higher percentages generally mean more moisture and comfort. To further reduce dryness, use a high-quality contact lens solution and maintain proper cleaning. Artificial tears can also help if your eyes are prone to dryness.

How do I clean my lenses properly?

Before wearing your lenses, it’s crucial to understand proper cleaning, insertion, and removal techniques. Follow these essential dos and don’ts to keep your colored contact lenses safe and comfortable to wear:

DO consult your optician or eye doctor before purchasing colored contact lenses.

DO wash and dry your hands thoroughly before handling your lenses.

DO soak new lenses in solution for at least 2 hours before first use.

DO rinse your lenses with solution if they touch anything other than your eyes.

DO keep your lens case clean and refresh the solution regularly.

DO remove your lenses before sleeping, bathing, or swimming.

DO take lenses out if you experience irritation, redness, or excess tearing.

DO consult a professional if symptoms persist or worsen.

DO NOT wear lenses beyond their recommended wear cycle (e.g., daily, monthly, yearly).

DO NOT use tap water, saliva, or household cleaners to clean your lenses.

DO NOT expose your contacts to makeup, deodorants, or hairspray.

DO NOT use damaged or torn lenses.

DO NOT wear more than one pair of lenses at once.

DO NOT share your lenses with anyone.

If you're unsure about anything, speak with an optometrist before wearing colored contact lenses.

What if I have allergies or sensitive eyes?

Over 75% of contact lens wearers report allergy-related eye discomfort, according to the American Optometric Association. Soft lenses can attract allergens, causing irritation, especially during allergy season.

To keep your eyes comfortable:

• Use preservative-free artificial tears regularly to flush away allergens and maintain moisture.

• Follow a stricter cleaning routine to reduce buildup. Clean more frequently using a preservative-free solution.

• Avoid rubbing your eyes. Instead, use a cool compress to relieve itchiness and swelling.

• Consider switching to daily colored contact lenses to minimize cleaning needs and exposure to allergens.

What materials are colored contacts made from?

Many of our lenses are made with cutting-edge MPC (2-methacryloyloxyethyl phosphorylcholine) polymer—a material that mimics the structure of natural cell membranes. This biocompatible coating resists protein and lipid buildup, minimizes bacterial adhesion, and helps retain moisture throughout the day. MPC lenses are ideal for sensitive eyes, providing exceptional comfort even during extended wear.

We also carry silicone hydrogel color contact lenses, another premium material known for high oxygen permeability. These soft lenses deliver more oxygen to the cornea than conventional hydrogel lenses, which helps reduce dryness, redness, and irritation. They’re also better at locking in hydration and maintaining lens clarity over time.

Silicone hydrogel is widely used in medical-grade applications, including therapeutic bandage lenses. But like all lenses, they still require consistent cleaning and care.

Which color contacts look the most natural?

Want lenses that enhance your natural eye colour without looking obvious?

EyeCandys offers a wide selection of coloured contact lenses designed to replicate the fine striations of a real iris. From subtle browns and hazels to striking greens and bright blues, our collection blends seamlessly with your eyes—no one will know they’re not your natural colour.

Explore our #myeyesbutbetter collection to find the shade that suits you best.

Why do you need my prescription for colored contact lenses?

If you’re ordering prescription contact lenses, EyeCandys is required to verify your prescription—this is a legal requirement under the Fairness to Contact Lens Consumer Law (FCLCA) and helps ensure your lenses fit properly and safely. You can upload your prescription online or simply provide your doctor’s name and phone number—we’ll take care of the rest.

The process is fast and straightforward. After contacting your optometrist, we must wait 8 business hours for a response. If no reply is received within that window, we’re legally allowed to ship your order. Most verifications are completed in about 12 hours.

If visiting an optometrist in person doesn’t fit your schedule, we also offer an online prescription renewal through Opternative for $40 USD. It’s a quick way to get a valid contact lens prescription from home. Once received, upload it at checkout or email it to us

Why would my eye doctor decline my request?

If your eye doctor agrees that the lenses you have chosen are suitable for your eyes then your order will be processed. If they decline your optician check your order may be cancelled and refunded. In this situation, we advise consulting with your optometrist to find out why they declined your request and if there are any alternative pairs of novelty colored contact lenses that are more suitable. With good communication, we are sure that you, your optometrist, and EyeCandy’s can find the perfect fit and a look you’ll love!

Your optometrist may decline your check if the diameter or base curve does not match your eyes, or if the power or corrective lenses you have chosen is incorrect. Please note that the RX check applies to both corrective and non-corrective lenses.

What if I don’t need a prescription?

Have 20/20 vision? EyeCandys offers both prescription and nonprescription colored contact lenses. Nonprescription options—also called “plano lenses” or cosmetic contact lenses—are perfect for anyone who wants to experiment with eye colour without needing vision correction.

How do I insert my contact lenses?

Applying color contacts for the first time may take a little practice, but it quickly becomes second nature. Before you begin, make sure you have a contact lens case and a bottle of lens solution ready.

We strongly recommend soaking your lenses in solution for at least two hours before first use. This ensures better comfort and hygiene when you wear them.

Follow these steps to insert your lenses safely:

Remove one lens from its case using the index finger of your dominant hand. The lens should rest with the edges curving upwards—like a bowl. If it flares outward, it’s inside out.

With your other hand, gently pull down your lower eyelid and lift the upper lid. This helps prevent the lens from catching on your lashes.

Look upward and place the lens onto the white part of your eye. Try not to blink. If the lens doesn't sit properly, remove, rinse, and try again.

Close your eye briefly and blink gently to center the lens. Check the mirror to ensure it's in place.

Follow the same steps for your second lens.

If your eyes become irritated or the lens feels uncomfortable, take a break. Rewet with solution if needed, and don’t force the process. If you continue to struggle, consult an optician for assistance.

How do I remove my contact lenses?

Taking out colored contacts is simple once you get the hang of it. Follow these steps to do it safely:

Never skip this step. Clean hands help prevent irritation or infection. If you're wearing long-term lenses, prepare a clean case and fresh solution.

Use one hand to gently pull down your lower eyelid and the other to lift the upper lid. Always start with the same eye for consistency.

Using your thumb and forefinger, softly pinch the lens to remove it. You should feel it release between your fingers.

Look upward and slide the lens down onto the white of your eye before removing it. If needed, repeat calmly.

Follow the same method for your second lens.

If removal becomes difficult, take a break and reapply some solution to rehydrate the lens. With a little patience, removing your lenses will become just as easy as inserting them.

How do I convert my glasses prescription to contacts?

A vertex conversion chart can help you convert your glasses prescription to contact lenses. See our full article here (opens in a new tab). Vertex conversion charts are pretty simple to use. You just have to know where to look and understand what the columns mean. The ‘glasses lens power’ column refers to the power on your current glasses prescription. If this figure is negative, then you’ll be converted to the figure on the left of this column. If the figure is positive, then your converted figure is on the right.

However, many vertex conversion charts only start at glasses prescriptions of +/-4.00D. This doesn’t take into account any powers lower than this figure. This is because the converted power is not much different from your original power. You can get away with using the same power as your glasses prescription when converting to a contact lens prescription. The one exception for this case, however, is when you have an astigmatism.

Which color contacts are best for dark brown eyes?

Majority of people are born with dark brown eyes, so you’ll be happy to know that most color contact lenses are designed first and foremost with dark brown eyes in mind. For a subtle look, you can opt for a semi-opaque pair that lightly enhances your eye color. We recommend exploring our Glossy series to achieve this effect. But if a full transformation is what you seek, check out our opaque lenses for maximum coverage—and maximum impact!
