How to Measure Your PD (Pupillary Distance)
- Stand about 8 inches from a mirror.
- Hold a ruler against your brow.
- Close your right eye to align the ruler's 0 mm mark with the center of your left pupil.
- Keep your head straight and then close your left eye while opening your right.
- The millimeter mark that aligns with the center of your right pupil is your PD.
- You've successfully measured your single PD!
For reading glasses, subtract 3mm from the value you just measured above and enter it into the PD field when adding to cart.
Tip for accuracy:
Repeat the measurement 3-4 times at different times throughout the day. Your PD can change slightly, so an average of these readings is most reliable.
Getting a little help:
-
It's easier with a friend. Keep your eyes open and look straight ahead.
-
Your friend should stay out of your direct line of sight at eye level.
-
Fix your gaze on an object 20 feet away, not on your friend. It's tough, but this is how you get the most accurate PD measurement.
