Disposable Color Contact Lenses – Making the Choice

Disposable Color Contact Lenses – Making the Choice - EyeCandys

Since manufacturers started making contact lenses in a wide array of colors and designs, people have enjoyed changing their look from time to time. If you’re thinking about spicing up your look a bit with these lenses as well, then you’d want to learn more about your options.

Daily Disposable Color Contact Lenses

The biggest advantage of daily disposables is the convenience that they offer. This type of lens also offers the highest level of comfort, since it’s made of thinner material. This is the best choice for you if:

  • You want to tweak your look from time to time, but not really on a daily basis.
  • You don’t want to go through the hassle of keeping them clean.
  • The probability of forgetting to clean your lenses is high.
  • You want to wear a fresh pair each day for safety purposes.
  • Of course, there are also disadvantages to going with daily disposables.
  • They’re not really that durable.
  • They come in fewer brands and colors.
  • If you need vision correction, they’re not really a good choice.
  • They’re generally more expensive than longer-lasting versions.

Weekly Disposable Color Contact Lenses

The biggest advantage of weekly disposables it offers the widest variety in terms of brands and colors. It is also deemed the most flexible in terms of replacement schedule. This is the best choice for you if:

  • You want to sport a new look for an entire week.
  • You appreciate having the option to keep the contacts on day in and day out for one week.
  • You want to keep the same look for up to two weeks.

Perhaps the only disadvantage of going for weekly disposables is that you’ll have to go through the whole cleaning and storing process every day before wearing and every night after removing them if you want to make them last for two weeks.

Monthly Disposable Color Contact Lenses

The biggest advantage of monthly disposables is the savings you get. They’re typically sold by box, with each box containing six pairs, so you only have to make one purchase every six months. This is the best choice for you if:

  • You don’t want to keep ordering new contacts.
  • You don’t really mind going through the cleaning and storing process every single day.

The disadvantage of choosing monthly disposables is the lack of options in terms of color.

If your budget is really limited but you still want to experience having a different eye color every once in a while, then you may want to consider getting yearly disposables. No matter what type of contacts you choose, though, what’s important is to consult your eye doctor before buying your first pair. You can only make the most of colored contacts if you always put safety first.
